A new AI startup, Nyne, has secured $5.3 million in seed funding to develop AI agents designed to understand people based on their digital footprints.

The funding round was led by Wischoff Ventures and South Park Commons, with participation from Gil Elbaz (co-founder of Applied Semantics and a pioneer behind Google AdSense).

What is Nyne building?

Nyne aims to create an “intelligence layer” for AI agents—a system that helps bots understand who you are beyond basic data.

These AI agents will analyze publicly available information across platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), SoundCloud, and Strava to learn about:

• Interests
• Hobbies
• Preferences
• Lifestyle patterns
With that context, the agents could eventually make purchases, schedule tasks, and automate decisions on your behalf.

The founders behind the idea

Nyne was founded by Michael Fanous, a UC Berkeley computer science graduate and former machine learning engineer, together with his father Emad Fanous, an experienced CTO.

Their goal is ambitious:

Build AI agents that understand people—not just their data.

Why this matters

As AI agents become more integrated into daily life, the next big challenge is context and personalization. Platforms that can create a deeper understanding of users may power the next generation of digital assistants and autonomous AI systems.

The real question is:
How comfortable are we with AI agents learning from our digital lives to make decisions for us?
